The fellas over at Onda Sonora and LDBK are throwing an event at which I’ll be performing an all new and improved live set. Release will be going down at Nuit Blanche, Beursschouwburg (Bxl) and is a concept endorsing young producers, vj’s and graphic designers. Other performing artists for the night: I-Sa, San Soda, Infinitskills and my man J To The C. Cream of the crop. Oh and by the way, this is the day after Pluto so you might as well adjust your schedule and make a weekend out of it.

A while back I wrote about this Red Bull beat battle they asked me to be in. The exciting event, put together by my extended fam over at Moovmnt and Nalden, took place at Rooms of Red Bull, Amsterdam.
Now all beatmakers have donated at least one track they played that very night, thus resulting into the now downloadable Afterthought compilation. Artists include 1st Angle, Hayzee, INT, FS Green and Louis Bordeaux. Say yay for free beats.

I’m a big fan of collages (currently working on some myself), so when I found Greek artist Jar Moff ’s 5-track cd in the mail, accompanied by handmade collage artwork I was stoked. Pictured above is number 8 in a series of 25 unique sleeves, made with pieces of images from 70’s Greek magazines and newspapers. Stunning.

After a relaxing week at our wonderful Belgian coast and a two-day visit to Amsterdam I’m re-opening Mac Fly tomorrow. We’re back, and with plenty good stuff at that. Coming up: new vinyl, photo/video report from past weekend’s Beat Battle at Rooms Of Red Bull and the new & fresh Mac Fly T-shirts (which -of course- you already knew about).

Today, due to the fact Gentse Feesten are over -thus resulting in this city feeling somewhat abandoned, the shop will open at 15 instead of 12. I must admit all the fun I had at the biggest outdoor festival of Europe the past 10 days has been the main reason why I’ve been slacking on updates.  No worries tho, I gotchu. The homie Kijkeenster hit me with a download link to a new mix he made with his friend Walter Ego. MMIAL is basically a cool mishmash of mainly dubstep and dance music. Great title to top it off.

October 2nd I’ll be playing the second edition of Pluto Festival at Nijdrop, Opwijk. They asked me to help come up with an ideal line-up for the night and it’s safe to say I’m more than satisfied with the outcome. Four Tet, Rustie, Jon Hopkins, Kentaro, myself and others + numerous visual artists. Expect a new live set packed with new joints.

As our creative family is gradually expanding, I’ll be announcing more Mac Fly-related events. I’m Ableton DJing a new set next Sunday at an annual graffiti jam here in Gent. Open air, spraypaint, hard beats, unreleased stuff. Can’t wait.
